Problem: When we’re having lower back, hip or pelvic pain and the abdominals just wont contract, an often overlooked source can be painful abdominal scar tissue. This sometimes will be obvious, or might been teased out with DNS style abdominal assessment and physical examination. Often times the painful area will be underactive, so wont hurt until directly challenged.
Solution: Manual therapy to decrease pain, taping if necessary and graded exposure rehabilitation to remodel the tissue and reintegrate into the abdominal cylinder.
